One Gutsy Couple!

Nicholas Kristof and his wife Sheryl WuDunn are our first couple to earn the gutsy title.

We at Gutsy Gals Inspire Me are all about championing women but this husband and wife team are too incredible to pass up. Their book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, could change your life.

You may recognize Nicholas Kristof from reading his searing op-ed column in the New York Times. Or perhaps you know him by his credentials: he is a Harvard graduate and Pulitzer Prize winner. Not to be outdone, wife Sheryl earned degrees from Cornell, Harvard and Princeton and is the first Asian American to win the Pulitzer. While incredibly successful, their new book is a crowning achievement.

Half the Sky is an eye opening and oftentimes shocking account of the plight of women around the world. While words like ‘Darfur’, ‘genocide’, and ‘human trafficking’, often feel miles away from the safety of our little bubbles, Kristof and WuDunn bring these issues home.
